The biggest fight in MMA history ?!

6 Oct

Today is the day and we will be witnessing most likely the “biggest fight in MMA history” when Conor McGregor and Khabib Nurmagomedov will finally collide inside the octagon. The wait is over and the hype is done. The UFC estimates ppv sales over 3 millions – which would indeed be historical – and mma fans around the world are divided between the Irish Sniper and the Dagestani Punisher. Let’s get this on.

Team Luxemburg – Get to know the athletes

14 Jun

On Saturday 18th, Team Luxemburg will be heading to Roumania to compete at this year’s IMMAF Amateur MMA European Championships and there’s high hopes. Might this little country finally get its first Amateur MMA  European Champion under the International Mixed Martial Arts federation ? Here’s a little inside knowledge on the competitors representing Team Luxemburg :

The Lightweight Division

José Teixeira isn’t your typical MMA athlete. He is very quiet, very down to earth and very humble. A lot of “very’s” but that is how you would look at him, especially as a casual Mixed Martial Arts supporter .  José doesn’t like the attention he gets and never checks out who he is supposed to fight.  Yet when it comes to competition, his skills speak for themselves. José likes to express himself through fighting and always looks for the finish.  Under the wings of his coach Miomir Vujovic, José has turned from a talented young practitioner into a well-rounded successful amateur fighter and is considered a favourite at the 2018 IMMAF European Championships in Bucharest, Romania.

Winning a Bronze medal at the 2017 IMMAF World Championships in Bahrain, he later went on to win the Red Lions Fighting Championship amateur 4-men lightweight tournament, claim the belt and make history. Never before has there been a Luxembourgish national MMA amateur champion, José is the first and only one.

Going for Gold.

12 Jun

Imagine you’re living in one of Europe’s smallest countries, yet having more Athletes compete than Germany at the European’s, and even claiming that GOLD at the end of a gruesome 5 day tournament. That should be considered the mission of TEAM LUXEMBURG, participating at this year’s IMMAF European Championships in Bukarest, Roumania. They are going for GOLD.

Saturday morning TEAM LUXEMBURG will head off to something big and we will be reporting on a daily base, with live streams and much more.

No luck for Team Streetsport’s women the last weekend

8 May

The armbar is one of the most beautiful submissions to hit in mma competition, unfortunatly this weekend both competing Team Streetsport’s members Nathalie Dupays as well as Lucie Bertaud had to surrender to such a sub.

While Nathalie Dupays lost pretty close to the finish of round 1 at the Belgian Amateur Mma Open in Charleroi, Lucie Bertaud came up short on her pro debut against Diana Felipe from Portugal who scored a beautiful armbar in round 1 at Integra FC 9 in Wittlich – Germany.

Check out the replay from Lucie Bertaud’s fight.
